Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Nice to see these birds in their own element and with no AZ on the tail, great shots

Thanks for the compliment. I would rather see them in Tucson with the AZ markings though.

Does this mean that a morning wave now consits of four (4) airframes?

How do you get your 'scherpte/diepte' effect in your foregrounds? I only get this effect on my foregrounds when I'm using my camera lying down on the ground and then taking a photo of something far away. Your shots were clearly made standing up, and still you get that out-of-focus foreground. I'm curious to learn how you do this?

(to the moderators: I realize this is a question for the 'photography'-forum, but then these particular photos are not available there to comment on  )

Nice pics! 8)

Lately there are indeed only 4 airframes per wave. :(

Stephan
Stefan,
the out-of-focus effect you see is due to the great distance between camera and subject and the use of a telelens. Distance was between 500 and 700 meters and the lens used was a 500mm lens combined with a 1.4xTC around F5 aperture. Online you can find various depth of field calculators where you can calculate the DoF for various camera's, lenses, apertures and distances. As an example: using a DoF calculator in my circumstances you get a DoF roughly between 400 and 600 meters. So everything between 0 and 400 meters will be out-of-focus as will be anything beyond 600 meters. I hope this explains it to you, else just send a pm.

It's probably photography-basics, but I'm not the most technical kind of photographer in the world, so thanks for the explanation Hans!

Visiting 82922, 83070, 83085 and 83095 HS F-16's

ZE293 AC, ZE295 AR and ZE251 AX Tornado F-3's

H-20 Alouette

A-452 Alouette

That was just in a hours visit around 11:00, the next year we turned up and the Netherlands was awash with loads of visiting US fighters!

Some of you will remember!

Uhm...that was during a TLP exercise...that was hardly a standard day, even in that era  I remember the day well with the visiting Homestead F-16A's!

My first thought too. I remember Twenthe in the mid 80s : 20-25 different NF-5s making 3-4 missions a day, which was regular ... :?
