El Centro airshow 2013

Due to budget sequestration in February, the news reached the world that from 1 April all US military participation at airshows or events will be cancelled, so a lot of the events itself will be cancelled as well. Fortunatly El Centro (toghether wity Yuma the week before) were the sole military airshows remaining this year (so far). Despite the airshow continued a lot of items cancelled the weeks before the event.

Still some very interesting participants were at a very sunny and hot Saturday in El Centro. In the flying display the military displays were a RAF Apache, a US Marines MV-22B, a US Navy Rescue MH-60 from NAS Fallon and offcourse the Blue Angels!! In the static display there were an MV-22B, F/A-18B, F/A-18E, F-5E, CH-46, RAF Apache and a T-34. Offcourse there were some civilian participants too.

All the jets were in the sunsheds, but some Dutch aviation photographers asked the crew chiefs after the show if the aircraft could not be towed out of the sunsheds, and it was no problem

Thanks for the nice comments. It was a nice show and very (too) hot, the sunsheds were very popular

Lovely pics in beautiful light... Not even the slightest amount of moist in the air, by the looks of it. Great for sweaty arm pits, but even greater for photography!!
