Gangshan airbase, Taiwan. 9 August 2013

Post by P.Terlouw »

Today I ended up at Gangshan Airbase, home of the Air Force Academy and they were flying pretty good. I saw all the types of aircraft stationed here: the T-34C basic trainer and the AT-3 advanced trainer. Also coming in was a Beech 1900 of the Airlift Training Group, a detachment of Sungshang.

They flew very good. In the morning I went to Pingtung but was cloudy. Decided to go to Tainan instead but soon found out they stopped early because of the airshow tomorrow, so on the way back I passed Gangshan and thought I give it a try. In the 13.00-16.30 timeframe I saw 2 waves of T-34 and AT-3. Each wave had around 5-6 aircraft.

Yes, the museum is still there and I visited it yesterday already. Will post some pics of that one at a later date.
