Confirmation that the sale of Dutch F-16’s to Draken is cancelled and wfu F-16’s are receiving maintenance at SABCA:

There will be new order with Draken for the sale of 6 F-16AMs these will come out of stock that is still operational.
Letter also says the 12 ex USA need maintenance but a location is sought. Not clear if is ment for (extra) maintenance or the use (for Ukraine) of storage afterwards.

Hi Canberra, I read it differently, as it states that the airframes are moved to Belgium for maintenance. The reference to the location is regarding their use after their visit to SABCA.

Agreed JPS, maintenance of the 12 will be done at SABCA, a new destination for after maintenance is currently being sought. Also mentioned is that these include twin sticks, that are good for training.

Interestingly it is also mentioned that of the 28 current aircraft 6 will possibly go to Draken (a new order has nogt been signed yet!), but for the other 22 also alternative destinations are being sought. And next it is specifically mentioned that the Ministry of Defence is planning to train Ukrainian pilots on the F-16.

I have seen the J-060 already on 28-7-2023 flying out of volkel
als je doet wat je deed, krijg je wat kreeg.
