FRANCE - Who, what, where is flying there? - 2014 MIL

Post by Wijgert IJlst »

6th of June 2014
While drying along the Peage I noted some interesting stuff, might be a long shot... but perhaps some one knows what they are?

- While passing city of Orleans on the Peage (Friday 6th June) around 16h00 I notice a Super Etandard coming in Orleans.

- Around half an hour later, about the time of 16h30, while passing the area of Etampes, I noted a large formation of 3 Super Etandards and 2 Rafales, heading from west to east in the direction of La Ferte Alais perhaps? Was this a rehearsel formation flight for the airshow next day, or did they perform a formation flight elsewhere?

I Suspect both the SEM at Orleans and the formation of SEM's and Rafales has something to do with the show at La Ferte Alais, can any one confirm this and perhaps share the serials of these fighters?
Kind Regards / Groeten,

hello,

I can not confirm that the airplane you saw were indeed the ones flying during the airshow, however there were indeed 3 super etendard, and 2 rafales (from marine) participating at the show.
After a quick look in my archive, these are the numbers flying that day (and maby also the day you saw them):
rafale 38 & 33
super etendard 2, 17 & 44

greetings
