Gioia del Colle, Grottaglie spotting help needed!

Post by Tijnvandebeld02 »

Can anybody give me some information about security, activity and positioning when spotting at either Gioia del Colle or Grottaglie? I am going to puglia in Italy this summer and I would like to spend a day spotting at one of these two bases. Unfortunately I can’t find too much information about either one of these bases and I was wondering if one you had any experience spotting there.
Thanks in advance,
Tijn

Was there a couple of months ago. It is not easy to see something on the ground as there is a lot of base and fields making it difficult to get near the runway. However you can find places near both approaches where you can observe the landings but it is all very open.
Grottaglie, Gioia and Lecce are all open and very easy.
