Kerkira (LGKR/CFU) 2022 MIL

Post by Bennie »

A drive by on 30.07 revealed 2 Dromaders on the ramp here, one of which (presumably one of these two) was seen flying the day before.
Both were MIA a few hours later, unfortunately.
I hope to be able to ID them in the days to come.

This afternoon they passed me heading for a fire at Lefkimmi, but caught me without binoculars 😞. Later, they were followed by two Ukrainian Mi8’s from Ioanina, UR-HZA & HZK according to ads-b, who are still active in that area.

At 09.50 local today (08-08) the two Dromaders here took off and headed for mainland Greece.

Perhaps they were replaced by two others, as 029 and 201 were seen on the ramp half an hour ago (11/8)

Possibly, but as I am over 15 km away from the airport I might not have seen them returning. They don’t follow the same patterns that the Airbusses and 737’s do. These pass in front of my balcony at about 2000 feet 😉

These are the same aircraft that arrived 31 May for their summer deployment here.

About 30 minutes ago, Corfu was crossed at 10.000 feet by a helo with callsign HZRC53. I could not make it out, but just now it was followed by HZRC52 also at 10.000 feet. This time I saw it; it appeared to be a white H145 with a red tail. It flew from Brindisi to …, possibly Preveza. Anyone with more info?

Most likely for “The Helicopter Company” in Saudi Arabia, they’ll fly them as air ambulance for the Red Crescent. Hence the registration.
