Spotting-guide Copenhagen/CPH/EKCH

Post by jaah »

Some other menbers asked if I could show where it's possible to take pictures at Copenhagen Airport, so I decided to try to make a spotting-guide.
Since parking is not allowed on the roads around the airport, I have included a few carparks as well.

First an overview of CPH.

A close-up of the terminals. I included the terminals because, if you are not familiar with CPH you can always find the terminals and then go from there.

At spottingplace 1 you can see the planes parked in front of the SAS Maintenance hangars.
Image

From spottingplace 2 you can see the planes take-off and land on runway 22L-04R. Usually used for landings.
Image

From spottingplace 3 you see the cargo apron.
Image

From spottingplace 4 you can see the planes using runway 12-30. It is usually only used in bad weather.

TEC Aviation is where all Danish aircraft technicians get the theoretical part of the education. They have a small hangar with 3 planes, a King Air, a Piper Seneca and a Jet Commander. They can be seen clearly through the windows in the hanger. But if you ask, I'm sure you will be allowed to go inside. It's also where I go to school :D.

From spottingplace 5 you have nice view of runway 22R-04L. Usually used for take-off. At this place you can also find a fast food place. It's the most popular of the places I have included.

I hope this can be a help to those of you who wants to visit CPH.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

For anyone visiting Copenhagen. Be advised that the aircraft and TEC Aviation has been re-located and is no-where near the airport anymore.
