CASAs at 4V

Post by Starman »

I assume you refer to the 212s, which I poled off last winter by walking right round the place, starting at the train station, and heading towards the Aero Club, then continuing clockwise past the Metro sidings, from where you get a good view of the entire storage area. If you mean the 127s in the museum, I rather made a mess of those as their compound was already closed, and of the three that should be there, I only positively ID'd 2. Any use?

Hi Simon,
If you go to the Civil side of Cuatro Vientos you can easily see the Casa's.
You MUST go to this side because on the military side you can't see anything. If you follow the road along the civil side you see lot's of places to see the Casa's. '
Don't forget to look at the maintenance facility, which is situated at the civil side, because you have a big chance to see a few FAMET helicopters in overhaul here. We saw 2 Bo-105's and a Bell 212 which is based at Tenerife. These helicopters can be photographed easily.
Hope this helps.

Hi All,

I live near Cuatro Vientos and the post put by Rene is the best way to see one part ot the Aviocar std. there. But, since this summer, most of the Aviocar were relocated in front of the 402 and 803 Sqn. hangars, easily spotted from the RACE building.
Howhever, the rest of the Aviocar are in front of the Maestranza and those are very difficult to spot or photo. Right now, there are 5 Aviocar in this zone (and 1 Carobou). I have the ID but not here. Tomorrow, I will post them.
In the close scrapyard there are two ones more and in the headline of the runaway 10, another one more to firemen excercises.

About the Eurocopter zone, tell you that any Militar helo is there now, all are in Albacete yet. Now, the hangars and platform are leased to INTERCOPTERS and you can see there some EC-135 and Robison helos.

I hope I have helped you.

Greetings from Madrid,

Paco Rivas

Hi Elmar,

We also did Cuatro Vientos from the outside (friday and Saturday).
Additional SH-60B is HS23-01/01-1001
Do not have the Bo-105´s yet, but I know someone that was on the base on Sunday, so I´m waiting to see his pictures.

Best regards,

Erik

Hi all,

I was inside both Cuatro Vientos and Torrejón and I will finish my log soon. I have all of the Cuatro Vientos (Tigres included) and a lot of Torrejón. Also, the pictures will be in my website soon.

Question, who was the tall Holland guy who was spoken with a Spanish Spotter at Torrejón Sunday morning and entered inside with the whole spanish group?. I´m the spanish one :-)

Hi all,

Anyone for the 6 Casa 212's that were on the platform last saturday at around 15:00? It were 5 grey ones and one SAR one. They were near the Caribou on the operational(?) part.
Also noted were 2 Puma/Cougar's in the most right hangar at the left side of the hangar?

Hope someone can help.
