Yup, you're right

Hi,

Saxon Warrior is split over several phases until June. According to a press release in Wales "50+ US F-18s will participate in a later phase of this exercise". (ok, I see you linked that article, sorry, just saw that)

1+1=....

Hi all,

Because this would be my first foreign spotterday I've got a question about this. Is a scanner accepted at France airbases? Or can I better leave this at home, I've to ride through Belgium and they don't like scanners there for what I've heard.

Thanks in advance.

France is no problem (though be aware, a lot of communications will be in French), but as you say yourself, Belgium doesn't allow to have it with you. [secret](But if you don't go near any airfield in Belgium and just only drive through that country towards France, and don't make yourself known as a spotter, and especially a Dutch spotter, you might get through without to much problems)[/secret]

My hopes are that the conflict in Lybia will not last to long, otherwise NTM might be cancelled due to operational commitments of many of the participants.

Hungary cancelled it participation for both the Tigermeet and Tiger Airshow due to $$$
Germany has a cash problem as well: Most probably only JBG32 will be at NTM2011

And may i ask, your source ? Since mine still hasn't got official conformation from either of these facts. No confirmation regarding possible US F/A-18's / F-15's either.

About the Hungarians, I have close contact with 1HRS due to an article to publish later this year.

Yesterday I spoke to a Gripen pilot who confirmed this. Three minutes later I spoke to the deputy commander of 1HRS, who confirmed this as well with the same story: $$$problems. For me this is official enough to mention this overhere.

Germany decided yesterday to send only a single squadron iso two(JBG32+AG51). Due to operational commitments most probably they decide to send JBG32 only (not known if they will be weekend visitor or two week participants).

AFAIK US F-15's were never on the list, F/A-18F's might however show up from CAW-8.

Regards
Dennis

Thanks for mentioning.

I have heard that the NTM organisation has contacts with Lakenheath to send a few eagles for the weekend...
However due to the Libiya situation, this might become very uncertain.

Didn't receive news regarding the other units. But indeed, you info seems "ok". ( Unfortunatly )

CVN77 is expected to call port in Portsmouth on the 27th of may. It is rumoured that this carrier will also participate in Exercise Saxion Warrior in UK water April and May.
If so, it might indeed very well be possible that aircraft from this carrier will shop up. But before you get your hopes up to high, remember that this is always heavily dependend on political situations and often cancelled at the very last moment.

Rumours, rumours, rumours...
Come on guys, how many times did we have nice carriers/deployments in the vicinity, but hardly/no extra special visitors on spotterdays and airshows...
Just wait and see...we should be glad when only half of the invited participants will show up...(when the NTM is not going to be cancelled at all...)

Some good news after cancellations of several events...

Yesterday on our visit on Cambrai we spoke with the EC12 pilots, and the NTM is not linked with the current political situation and while EC12 is not participating in the NATO operation over Libya, so in that context they are still planning and preparing. NTM 2011 will take place, the only thing they can't influence is the number of participants. So we’ll have to wait and see what will show up…

Reaction on topic: release new paint 31sm, by painter of the bird
due to operational requirements, 31 Sqn's participation at this year's Tiger Meet will be very low-key
PS their tiger looks great!!!
