Izmir-Kaklic (LTFA) 2011 MIL

Post by r.e.hendriks »

Hi all,

After a very nice spottersday at Cigli we drove towards Kaklic (15:30-1700).

We saw the following parked at various ramps:

CN-235: 119, 127, 134, 120 (arr.) +3
AS.532: 01-2531, +3
UH-1: 3x
T-37: 5x
T-38: 5x
SF-260: 92-0801, 92-0804, 93-0818, 93-0824, 93-0826

C-160 (FAF): RA02/61-MI

There should also be 4 T-41s parked in front the T-38 line. We didn't see yet.

Help on the missing serials is of course more than welcome!!!

Best regards Rob.

I can add UH-1H 69-15571 and a AS.532 which we read as 02-25683. There was some doubt about the 8 being a 6, and is probably mispole as the 83 does not excist. Tomorrow we will check the rest.

Cheers,

T-38 should be 23630.
The first Cougar is probably 02-2563 because 83 doesn't excist.
The second Cougar is 01-2531

Indeed Rob, we came to the same three conclusions!

he Marco,

On the 6th with the last sunlight (opposite) I was able to read the following;
CN.235's
97-133
95-108
97-127
96-120
134
132
97-125
95-103

the 149 and 119 were gone

T-38's
still five there but to much ass

T-37's
The most right one (north) ended with 07

UH-1's
69-15571
the second one I read as ..-....6 so that is good news ;-)

Cougars
01-2533 confirmed
02-2563 I read as 02-256(8)
02-2561 I read as 02-2..1
01-2528 I read as 01-..2(8)
01-...1 I read as 01-..31 gel

That can be only one....

12807/2-807

So we are still missing one.....

The UH-1H ending with is probably 69-15646, but needs confirmation...

Also still one T-41D missing....

Best regards Rob.

Hi Rob,

I think that there were only four T-41s at Kaklic? (14, 22, 25, 73)

Another source read the second Huey near the Cougars as 15648. On the 4th another one was parked next to the French Transall around 18:00 hrs or so.

Did anybody read the white CN235 coming in at Kaklic around 19:00 hrs on sunday?

Regards, Paul

In the afternoon of the 7th the four of the five T-38's (38209, 23656, 13178 +1) and five T-37's (90384, 39831, 12807, 12805, 90385) and three KT-1's (10-01, 11-08, 11-12) arrived back at Cigli. Not all aircraft arrived within the time we stayed, as we had to catch our flight home. At least one more T-38 arrived after we departed (must be 23630). I'm sure this still helps to fill in some gaps for most of you!

Cheers,

In the morning of the 7th another attempt wass made on the water tower. Although we were much too late (heatwaves) the following were noted;

CN.235: 108, 125, 132, 133, 134, +1 and 149 (not 100% sure about this one, it was on the far end were Transall 61-MI was parked before)
UH-1H: 2x next to the Cougars (most likely 15571 and xxx46 as we also read 46 from the westside before) + 2x far end
AS.532: 5x and one flying. (most likely the usual 5 + 1 from static Cigli)

Anyone for the gaps?

Cheers

Most has been identified in the meantime, apart from the UH-1 situation.

On the 2nd five UH-1s were seen of which three were read off by us: 69-15571, 69-15721 and 82-24046. A fourth one was identified with great difficulty on the 6th as 69-15647 (although last digit is not 100% certain but looked like 2 or 7). In other reports I've seen 69-15648 confirmed. Anyone with more confirmed sightings?

Edwin
