Wish I had a secretary to keep my logs. :-)

Lot of planes for 'just' an afternoon. Where can you find so many movements these days on a European base?

Have a great vacation!

Cheers, Dick

At this moment Emmen is THE place to be in Switzerland. Both Meiringen and Payerne are closed in July due to various reasons. So if you are on the way to a nice holiday destination in Italy...

Thanks for the LOG but there is already an Emmen 2012 thread. http://forum.scramble.nl/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=83059

The July 19 was the day with lowest flight activities in the last two weeks. "Only" 17 F-18 and F5 flew on this day. One day last week I counted 13 Hornets in the morning and 18 Hornets in the afternoon. 8) It was really awesome to see so many jets there, because Emmen has only 5-6 Jets on a normal day (mostly Tigers).

Was driving through Switserland to and from Italy. First stop was a short one, second a bit longer.
Any help with the PC-9 and Puma/Cougar is appreciated.

Emmen, 07-09-2012

PC-6: V-623, V-634
PC-7: A-917, A-936, A-940

Emmen, 13-09-2012
Today there was something special going on. Pilots on the spotters-place, camera/photo-crew on the field. Don't know if it was the first flight of UAV 252, but there was a lot of interest for it. PC-6 V-622 was chase/photo plane. Also 6 PC-21's came in and were placed in the hangars at the spotters-terrace.
I missed the Puma/Cougar and PC-9 wich made a touch and go.

PC-6: V-612, V-613, V-614, V-622
PC-7: A-913, A-934, A-936, A-940
PC-9: C-410, +1
PC-21: A-101, A-102, A-103, A-104, A-107, A-108
B-1900: T-729
F-5E: J-3088 (Patr. de Suisse, towed) +4 in hangar
UAV: 252, 268
Puma/Cougar: ???

That's it for Emmen.

Cheers,

they where in front of the PC-21 hangar, so if you are on the spotters-hill to your right. They where all in covers.

Both J-3205 and J-3206 were noted last week inside the PC7/PC6 hangar at the eastern side, both without big covers and lokking very very operational.

A well informed source in Switserland tells me ;
J-3056 J-3206 J-3207 J-3208 are all wfu at Emmen
He is not sure about the J-3205
Also wfu at Emmen with RUAG is J-3004 (used for spares?)

We've been to Emmen last Thursday and Friday and all those F-5's were towed to the hangar at the orther side of the runway.
The people who towed the F-5's told us that these F-5's need big maintenance and are not airworthy at the moment.
Also noted in Hangar 4 was F-5F J-3201.
