Nigeria - follow-up to Danny de Kievit report (Scramble 376)

Post by Linerman »

Excellent report which I greatly enjoyed. I'd like to focus on the One-Elevens at Benin City, of which 12 are identified in Danny's report; a further six could not be identified because of "dirt, high grass and close parking of aircraft". Earlier reports suggest that 19, not 18, Okada Air One-Elevens are here (the figure is mentioned in the caption to one of the photographs from 2009 that appear on Airliners.net) and http://www.bac1-11jet.co.uk lists 19 registrations: 5N-AOP, AOS, AOZ, AXQ, AYR, AYS, AYT, AYU, AYV, AYW, BIN, EHI, MZE, NRC, OMO, ORO, OVE, SDP and USE. Of these, 11 are confirmed by Danny: AOZ, AYR, AYS, AYT, AYV, AYW, BIN, EHI, MZE, OMO and USE. However, Danny also lists 5N-IUE, which is not a known BAC 1-11 reg, and which *could* be a mispole for OVE. Is this feasible? And is it feasible there were 7 unidentified 1-11s, not 6? Maybe Danny could respond, either on the forum or privately to survivors@gatwickaviationsociety.org.uk
