Austral Líneas Aereas (AU/AUT), Argentina, has signed the long rumoured order with Embraer for 10 E-190ARs.
There are a few requirements that still need to be met before the contract goes into effect, but they apparently expect these to be resolved in the next few months.

Looks like Thai Airways is trying to get ride of theire A380 order; http://www.luchtvaartnieuws.nl/news/?ID=30930

Shortly translated: Thai is facing operational problems to get the A380 filled and due to late delivery the expectation is that there will be none improvement for the airline (only financial troubles)

Next to the possible upcomming canx. of ILFC of 10 A380 this makes 16 deliveries very questionable....

American Airlines has converted an option for 8 Boeing 737-800's into firm options. The aircraft are to replace the 35% less fuel efficient MD-80's.

And Le Bourget has started.....

First order: Air Nostrum has placed an order for no less than 35 CRJ1000!
The deal consists of 15 new orders, 15 that where placed in 2007 but without disclosing the name of the company and 5 conversions of CRJ900s.

Qatar Airways has ordered 24 aircraft from the Airbus A320 family. 4 of these 24 aircraft were allready announced at the Farnborough Air Show.

Lockheed Martin contracts CAE to build C-130 simulators and training devices for Indian Air Force, U.S. Air Force, including Air Force Special Operations Command, and undisclosed customer
CAE to provide comprehensive C-130H aircrew training system for undisclosed customer
New C-130 contracts valued at more than C$60 million

Le Bourget, France, June 15, 2009 – (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) – Today at the Paris Air Show, CAE announced it has been awarded a series of contracts from prime contractor Lockheed Martin and an undisclosed customer to design and manufacture four C-130 simulators and several training devices for military customers around the world.

“Over the past two decades, CAE has delivered more training systems for the C-130 than any company so we’re pleased to continue building on this experience and look forward to furthering our relationship with Lockheed Martin and our other customers in providing training systems to global militaries flying the C-130,” said Martin Gagné, CAE’s Group President, Military Products, Training and Services. “We’re particularly pleased to welcome the Indian Air Force and U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command to our long and growing list of C-130J customers.”

The contracts were signed over the past three months and the total value exceeds C$115 million. Of this total, more than C$60 million will be applied to CAE’s fiscal year 2010. The remainder is already in the backlog of fiscal year 2009.
Indian Air Force

CAE will design and manufacture a C-130J full-mission simulator that will be delivered to the Indian Air Force (IAF) Hindan Airbase. India is acquiring six C-130J aircraft to provide the IAF with modern and effective airlift to support a range of national requirements, including enhanced special operations capabilities. The C-130J simulator will be the first CAE has built featuring the CAE TrueTM electric motion system. India will join a growing list of global militaries who train their C-130J aircrews on CAE-built simulation equipment, including the U.S. Air Force and Marine Corps, Royal Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force, Italian Air Force, and Canadian Air Force.

U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command

CAE will design and manufacture an HC/MC-130J full-mission simulator that will be delivered to the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). The HC/MC-130J is a variant of the C-130J aircraft designed specifically for air refueling and other special operations forces roles. The U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command (ACC) as well as AFSOC has a requirement for HC/MC-130J aircraft to replace their existing C-130 aircraft. This will be the first HC/MC-130J simulator CAE has built for ACC/AFSOC.

U.S. Air Force

CAE will design and manufacture a C-130J systems integration lab (SIL), which will be used for the development and testing of C-130J operational flight program (OFP) block upgrades and modifications. The C-130J SIL will be located at CAE USA in Tampa, Florida and serve as an engineering development tool to test and validate aircraft and simulator upgrades for both the U.S. Air Force and international C-130J customers.

Other customers

Under subcontract to Lockheed Martin, CAE will design and manufacture a C-130H full-mission simulator to a Level D-equivalent standard for a C-130H undisclosed customer. This customer is upgrading their fleet of C-130H aircraft with new communication, navigation, and surveillance systems.

CAE will provide another undisclosed customer a comprehensive C-130H Aircrew Training System offering fully-integrated C-130H training for pilots, co-pilots, flight engineers, and navigators. The C-130H Aircrew Training System includes a C-130H full-mission simulator, a C-130H avionics part task trainer, computer-based training and instructional courseware, brief/debrief stations and a training management information system.

For me the biggest news to come out of the Show so far is Malév Hungarian Airlines (MA/MAH) signing a letter of intent with Sukhoi for 30 SuperJet 100s.
No specific variant has been announced, and whether all 30 will become firm orders is unclear, but this is still quite a coup for Sukhoi.

Another Le Bourget order:

Vietnam Airlines announced yesterday that they have purchased an additional two ATR 72-500's, bringing the amount of ordered ATR 72-500's to 16.

Big order (relatively speaking) for Airbus:

Malaysian airline Air Asia X (D7/XAX) has signed an order for 10 A350-900s with options for an additional 5.
Deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2016, and the aircraft will be fitted in a 425 seat, two class layout.

And Afrijet has signed an order for 4 ATR72-500.

It seems like this edition, it is not the two big manufacturers, but the smaller companies that take the orders (Bombardier, Embraer, ATR, Sukhoi).

And I love to be proven wrong....

Wizzair signed a LOI for an extra 50 (fifty!) Airbus 320.....
Not an order yet, but still impressive in these times.

A very interesting order coming after the Le Bourget show:

Virgin Atlantic has ordered 6 A330-300 and will lease 4 A330-300 from AerCap. The 6 newly ordered aircraft will also be leased from AerCap (but first bought by Virgin, then sold to AerCap and then leased back.... or something like that).
