At 10.00 am the Concorde took off from Le Bourget to celebrate 100 years of French aviation.

Thank you for that information, but i read that but i am wondering if i missed something about this. If i knew this in advance i would have gone there. And i would not be the only one who would want to see this i think.

Did i miss the news, or was this a spontanious act. I thought that BA had the only fly worthy concorde.

Greetings Jessica.

Very few news-agencies spreaded this hoax. I thought NOS was very reliable...my mistake! They first announced the flight, and then confirmed it just after 10.00 am!

I found it very strange that no-one was aware of the fact that there was an airworthy Concorde in France... :o

Shortly before April Fool's Day (01 APR 2009), there was a message on the website of the Musée de l'Air about a Concorde being prepared to make a flying appearance at this year's show at Le Bourget.

I assume this is the aftermath of this April Fool's joke. :drinking:

If you are able to read French, here is the confirmation on the Museum's website that it was a "poisson d'avril" (April fool's joke)!

Come on guys (and girls), the type's certificate was withdrawn by Airbus after the last flight. Maybe there is a machine that is technically capable of flying (actually, the museums that got machines had to maintain them in such a way they are not airworthy), that one is impounded on behalve of the families of the killed persons at the crash.
