It may not be too long before
https://twitter.com/orko_8
comes up with the exact identities and-or more details. This Turkish Twitter-user seems to know his defence stuff.

Two incidents/accidents near/in Konya today possibly: one civil, one military. Time will tell... :?
A military aircraft crashed on Thursday during a training flight in the central Turkish province of Konya, no injuries were reported.

According to sources, two pilots on board abandoned the aircraft by parachute.

A number of ambulances, search and rescue teams have been deployed to the area.

On the same day, a single-engined civilian aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in Konya due to technical problems. Three people on board have been rescued by search and rescue teams after the aircraft landed in a field.

One AeroNG4 crashed with 2 people on board on Thurs afternoon, 14 May. No parachute was used. Third guy reported to have been a pax was actually a ITAF PJ whose helo was in the vicinity. He climbed up a steep hill to get to the site after his Helo landed on a flat spot below. On the way up he stumbled and bumped his leg, not even sore. Since he rode the ambulance from Konya base to the big University Hospital, the hospital thought he was aboard the ultralight. I too was in the ambulance and can report that the pilot, Carlos Morgadinho, old 301 Tiger from Portuguese AF, now a Capt for Ethiad in Dubai, had a few cuts and bruises around his face and he's doing fine, still in Konya supervising the removal of the pieces and parts.

Cause not yet released by Civ Accident board,

The passenger was a GAF officer who broke his right leg and his left foot. He's in Germany getting ready for operations. Both are lucky to be alive.

The acft was operating on the civ side of the airport and was giving morale flights to any tiger who could find a spare 30 mins to get airborne. All was completely legal and schedule was coordinated to not interfere with Tiger Meet flying and Turkish Stars practices.

Finally there was no Rafale crash or any other type of acft crash from Konya. The accident described above was NOT a "Tiger Meet" crash!!

Cheers, Don T3
