US Chopper destroyed in anti-terror operation in Syria

Post by Rabbit »

An American helicopter, judging by the photos most likely an H-60, was destroyed during an anti-terror operation in Syria.

The helicopter had, according to the Americans, technical problems and was destroyed after a precautionary landing, so that it could not fall into enemy hands.

...when I post "news stories" on this forum
I sometimes forget to check the frontpage of Scramble
at https://scramble.nl/.

to see whether they already have it featured at either
https://scramble.nl/military-news
or
https://scramble.nl/civil-news .

Las evening i had something in the preview,
was about to post it on this messageboard ("hitting the send-button"),
until I suddenly found
https://scramble.nl/military-news/160th ... after-raid

Please do keep sending in other "news-bits", Rabbit! :)

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but the Scramble news item said:

"There are two possible contenders for the serial, 20372 or 20472. Time will tell which one was unlucky enough to be blown apart by its own troops, to prevent Islamic State getting hold of very sensitive equipment."

Well, if you open this photo https://www.scramble.nl/images/news/202 ... MH60_2.jpg, rotate it 90º clockwise and zoom in on the serialnumber, you can see that the middle digit can't be a 3 but has to be a 4. So 20472 is your suspect.
