1st CAB taking over from 3rd CAB (11th AB rotation Atlantic Resolve)

The next rotation has been announced!

FORT RILEY, Kan. – On August 18, 2023, the Department of the Army announced the deployment of the 1st Infantry Division Combat Aviation Brigade to Europe in support of European Allies and partners.

The 1ID CAB will deploy to Europe to replace the 3rd Infantry Division Combat Aviation Brigade, as part of a regular rotation of forces to support the United States’ commitment to NATO Allies and partners

The Combat Aviation Brigades’ most recent deployment was in early 2021, throughout areas of Eastern Europe, in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.

“The 1st Combat Aviation Brigade has some of the Army's best Soldiers and Aviators. We have trained diligently over the past year in preparation for our deployment,” said Col. Chad Corrigan, the 1ID CAB commander. “The Demon Brigade is more than ready to deploy to support this mission and continue to strengthen our established relationships with our European Allies and partners.”

The above 1-1st Avn Apaches got airlifted to Ramstein and arrived between 28th and 30th September. Shortly afterwards all 8 left in two 4-ships to Ansbach (and eventually Hohenfels). Can't see any Port of Beaumont departures scheduled anytime soon on https://www.arcshipping.com/
However an end of September departure by one of the ARC Ro-Ro ships should give a mid-October arrival.
Arrival ports mentioned in upcoming schedules are Zeebrugge and Antwerp. Let's wait and see

At Woensdrecht, light poles are placed along taxiway Bravo (or northern taxitrack) which is a clear sign that they will arrive there later this month.

842nd TB facebook advises 35 helicopters are loaded aboard the Cape Vincent (likely destined for Volos, GR). So around 40 (minus the ones that got airlifted?) could be expected to arrive at Vlissingen. The Endurance has a mix of all helo types.

Amerikaanse eenheid via Nederland naar Duitsland

Van 16 tot 27 oktober vliegen er ongeveer 50 helikopters van de ‘Combat Aviation Brigade’ vanaf Vlissingen-Oost naar Vliegbasis Woensdrecht. Het gaat om Chinook- en Black Hawk transporthelikopters en Apache gevechtshelikopters. Vanaf Woensdrecht vliegen ze naar Duitsland.

Via Vliegbasis Eindhoven vliegen tussen 20 november en 15 december ongeveer 55 helikopters in fasen naar Vlissingen voor verscheping terug naar de Verenigde Staten. Dit gebeurt op werkdagen bij daglicht.

De verplaatsing is onderdeel van de Host Nation Support (gastlandsteun) die Nederland levert aan de Verenigde Staten van 6 oktober tot 24 december. De 1st Infantry Division Combat Aviation Brigade verplaatst via Nederland naar Duitsland, Polen en Letland. De 3rd Infantry Division Combat Aviation Brigade verplaatst terug naar de Verenigde Staten.
