Although the subjects Hammarö brings in are interesting, at least most of the times,
his comprehension of the English language is terrible , to say the least.
For that reason I normale skip his contributions, they hurt my eyes to much.........
Oh yeah, his strange comments in the submarine topic are neither understood by me.,
but I guess I'm not alone in this case.

Remco

Re: Russian submarine in swedish waters
Dutch destroyer HNLMS Evertsen and escort HHLMS Zealand follows a Russian professor ship stright ahead of Swedish coast to save a crippled Russian submarine or other underwater vehicle?? Followed up by HNLMS Amsterdam supply ship. A dutch submarine still left in Swedish waters together with some Swedish submarines submerged!!
Professor Logachef left St Petersburg yesterday evening and arrive Swedish waters these evening "escorted" by the Dutch ships? Full speed ahead. It must be planned??
I large tanker hover outside Swedish border since beginning of October (Contador). A submarine mothership. Sensors shut off.

I hope the dutch naval ships have a sonar equipped helicopter. Swedish have to wait four years for their NH-90.
Swedish helicopters hovers in certain Stockholm waters.
Swedish sigint high alert.

Re: Russian submarine in swedish waters
Well, Evertsen is a frigate, Zeeland is a patrol vessel, not a destroyer or an escort vessel. IIRC the last destroyer in the RNLN was phased out in the late 70s.
The reason why these ships are in that area is flagwaving and moral boast to the Baltics that NATO won't let their allies down as soon as Putin thinks his country is finished in the Ukrain.

De Zeven Provinciën-class frigates are classified as frigates by the Netherlands Navy, but are internationally classified as destroyers as this better fits their armament and role.....

Dutch destroyer HNLMS Evertsen left Professorship and steamed self down the Baltic outside Gotland sunday evening.
Tracked by

Professor Logachef no track since last.
Contador steaming into Stockholm, maybee to dembark oil. In newspapers is Contador followed by a submarine.
No further tracks of the "Russian submarine".
Lots of speculations in Swedish and news abroad.
Specially around Spetsnaz and PDSS use of mini subs. Much talk of Kronstadt and the Spetsnaz and PDSS there.
But there is also a PDSS unit in Krohnstadt. The Sea Corps School have a mini sub on school yard (visible on Wikipedia).
Sweden lacks airbased sonar on helicopter. Much needed.
