Log Austria (Tirol) August 2009

Post by Buccaneer S.2B »

Good evening,

Although it was intended to be a non spotting holiday in Austria, some limited
hit-and-runs were carried out..........

Sankt Johann in Tirol, Sunday 16-08-09
At this small airfield two choppers could be noted, both
inside the single hangar:
OE-XSM Robinson R22 Beta
D-MEHP Auto Gyro Europe MT03

Kitzbühel Krankenhaus, Tuesday 18-08-09
This small hospital is situated just east of the city centre,
the address being Hornweg 30 Kitzbühel.
OE-XEY Eurocopter EC135P2+ ÖAMTC/Christphorus 4

Schwaz (Amry barracks), Thursday 20-08-09
These barracks are situatad 1km west of the city centre at the
northern bank of the river Inn, along a road called "Innhöfe".
I've read reports as it being quite difficult to find, and this indeed can be
the case if you take highway-exit Schwaz. It easier to take the exit
to the the west of Schwaz called "Vomp". Just before you cross the highway go left, and after you crossed the railway in the tiny village go left left again. After
approximately 1km you can see the barracks at your right hand side.
3E-KF SA316B Alouette 3 c/n 1460 Fliegerstaffel 2

Waidring, Friday 21-08-09
This heliport is in the south-east part of this village, the address
being "Unterwasser 59" (dead-end street !).
D-HTEN Bell 222UT SHS (red-white c/s, no titles)
OE-XFS AS335F1 Ecureuil 2 SHS (red c/s, with titles)
OE-XSR AS355N Ecureuil 2 SHS/Heli 4 (red c/s, with titles)
OE-XXS Eurocopter EC135P1 c/n 0008 (all stripped -overhaul-, indentified by c/n plate)
I-5729 Elisport CH7 Kompress
unknown Elisport CH7 Kompress
Both CH7's weren't in the heliport hangar, but actually in some kind of barn
attached to a large white estate, just 50 metres from the heliport along the same road ! Thanks again to my 2nd son, who discovered them.............!

Kufstein-Langkampfen, Sunday 23-08-09
The address being "Auweg 19", this is actually a different location as the
tiny airfield of Langkampfen being situated just 1km North-East of it.
SHS has a permant helicopter detachment based (log at this forum dating 16-08: OE-XXZ AS355 SHS/Heli 3), unfortunately (for me) nothing was present.....

Zell am See, Tuesday 25-08-09
And again an ÖAMTC chopper based at a light aviation airfield:
OE-XAH Eurocopter EC135T1 ÖAMTC/Wucher (red-yellow c/s with titles)
