Dutch Police helis with fixed call-sign ??

Post by topsafe »

All,

Today I saw PH-PXA flying overhead Den Haag. When he contacted RTM-tower,he called himself Police 01.

Does this mean the EC.135's will use fixed call-signs, so PH-PXB would be Police 02 etc. ??

Yesterday afternoon the same for PH-PXA, also on ModeS his callsign is showing as 'ZXP01'. I personally haven't heard or ModeS-logged other police aircraft with this sequence.

(after posting I saw the previous post...So addition: also on ModeS as ZXP.)

It could be a new ICAO designator to be used in flightplans!

Hi guys,

Indeed, flightnumber "ZXP01" was used in it's flightplan to and from EHRD.
The pilot confirmed the new callsigns to EHRD Tower just after the first contact.

FYI, Schiphol CISS also uses this new fixed system for Police choppers.
