Six 81st FS A-10s are for joint training exercise "Reunion April 2009" at Bezmer Air Base, Bulgaria, and not in Italy. See: http://warthognews.blogspot.com/2009/04 ... to-10.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (including links for related info)

Just three diverted in Aviano today :lol: (91-0338 +2)

Furthermore two are still on loan to the 31st FW. (90-0827 and 831)

A little question: actually the USAFE's fleet of F-16C is undergoing the CCIP modifications at Tanagra. Cause the 555th FS have many Vipers there, they have on loan four "SW" and right now six "SP" machines; well, the 52nd FW have itself a number of Vipers undergoing mods plus the six on loan to Aviano, so my ask is: why the 52nd FW don't needs loan aircraft as the 31st FW do?

Surprise! Spang Vipers are deployed again to Joint Base Balad, Iraq.

USAF photo proofs for 91-0343 and 91-0351 (both from 22nd FS): http://www.balad.afcent.af.mil/news/sto ... =123157342" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Anybody who knows the other serials and departure date?

Can anyone tell me if the local squadrons have any deployments planned in September.
Would like to visit the base then, to see some other stuff besides AMC.....

Thanks in advance,

To Rene and others: According to a Stars and Stripes news article, elements from the 81st FS (probably with at least twelve of their upgraded A-10Cs) are scheduled to deploy as 81st Expeditionary Fighter Squadron (81st EFS) for Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) to Afghanistan as part of USAF's upcoming regular AEF 1/2 (Cycle Eight) rotation (September - December 2009). Looks to me like the 81st EFS will replace Moody's 74th EFS at Bagram AB.

Hope that helps.
