Brize Norton (EGVN/BZZ) - 2009 MIL

Post by Thermal »

Weekend activity @ RAF Brize Norton?

Does anyone know how much activity is to be expected in the weekends at RAF Brize Norton?? Is there any flying at all from the RAF transports in the weekends??

Many thanks

AFAIK, sometimes there is, plus special flights now and then (VIP etc.).

REQ: Brize july 19th
we were here from 17.30-18.45h and saw:
C-17A: ZZ171, ZZ173 and one inside hangar that should have been ZZ175
VC-10: XV 101/S, XV107/X, XV108/Y, ZA148/G and XV106/W arrived at about 18.30h, another VC-10 was inside the hangar right from the hangared C-17.
Tristar: ZD953 and 2 other grey ones.

Anyone for the missing ones?

REQ: Brize july 20th

while we were on the RIAT departure day we saw some aircraft take off from Brize.
Maybe somebody knows which serials departed at the following times:
Somewhere between 9 and 11h a VC-10 took off.
At 11.14h a C-17 took off and circeled above Fairford.
At 11.40h a Tristar too off.
At 13.15h 2 VC-10 took off after each other!
Also a Sea King was seen in the south west from Fairford from 10.05 untill 10.30h and again at 11.50h, but I guess this heli was active more toward Lyneham, anyone???

TIA,
Erik
