Boscombe Down (EGDM) - 2009 MIL

Post by perrie »

Hi,

On the way to Fairford we made a stop at RAF Boscombe Down. Weather was horrible at that moment with a lot of rain.
We noted two BAC111's in front of the hangar, one with the testnose and on with ETPS markings.
Can anyone confirm these as: ZE432 (ETPS mks) and ZE433 (with testnose).
There was also a VC-10 coded 'P', which should make it ZD242.
Next to the VC-10 a white aircraft was seen, maybe an Andover?
In front of the hangar a Chinook without rotorblades, unfortunately also impossible to read.

On the other side of the base BAC111 XV105 was near the fence with a lot aircraft around it. Does anyone know their identity? And ofcourse the Lightning was at the gate guarding the base.

Thanks, Per/Joan

Perrie,

when did you visit Boscombe Down? Friday afternoon we saw the following:
ZE432 BAC1-11
ZE433 BAC1-11
"ZE416" (not read by us) A.109 ETPS titles
XX342 HAWK T.1
ZJ648 Alpha Jet
ZF510 Tucano
XV197 Hercules
also a second Tucano was seen, code 58(?), and a second Hawk, with Qinetic titles. Furthermore a Lynx was spotted, and a Chinook HC.3 was pulled outside. We couldn't read those. Any help on these four would be appreciated.

kind regards,

Michel

Noted at Boscombe Down 16th July at about 18.00 hrs:

ZE432 BAC 1-11 ETPS/QinetiQ
ZE433 BAC 1-11 QinetiQ
XV197/197 Hercules
ZA552/044 Tornado GR.4T

I also passed by the airfield on saturday 25th of July. Visible were the two BAC 1-11's, plus Andover XS606. Another white Andover was visible, but the serial was not readable. Any ideas anyone?

Hi, I have a question. Went past Boscombe Down on the way to the RIAT, noted some a/c there.
Have a question about some aircraft outside.
What aircraft are on display/parked outside next to BAC111 XV105??

TIA, Per
