Wrecks and relics in Denmark

Post by ehusmann »

With both the Ronneby and Karup shows in June it was time for some W&R hunting in Denmark. I had been in Denmark before, a few times, but never done much of it. Only the long closed Billund museum in 1990, since then only occasional airframes at a couple of shows. That has changed. Below are a bunch that I took the past month. Since many more have been doing the same over the past month, feel free to add your own.

Egeskov museum
Not just a plane museum, but more like a family attraction park around a castle. It has a few planes, all except the Draken inside. If you want to see them you really do have to pay up....

Stauning museum
The collection at Stauning has quite a few interesting modern military exhibits, including a H.500, F-16 and Sea King, but is probably more famous for the large collection of airworthy rarities.

KZ-VIII, also airworthy

Sole surviving KZ-X. This is the prototype (and has no military history). All 12 others that flew for the Danish Air Force either crashed, or were scrapped.
