Gents, let me start by telling you how highly appreciated your past contributions to this topic have been. Rob, your stunning collection seems infinite

Here's my humble share in the fun.

One of my first visits to EHAM was in August 1987. I had a very basic photo camera, given to me by my father and I wasn't very experienced. This is all I seem to have produced that trip:

Air UK BAC 1-11 432FD G-AXMU (c/n 157)
Image
Balkan Bulgarian Airlines An-12 LZ-BAB (c/n 8346002)
Image
Transavia 737-222, PH-TVH (c/n 19955/210):

Another visit, on January 2, 1991. First of all Air UK BAe 146-200 G-CNMF (c/n E2079)
Image
British Airways BAC 1-11 501EX, G-AWYT (c/n 176)
Image
Nice platform overview with PH-BDL in the front, obviously not as interseting as LN-RLS just behind. LN-RLS, DC9-41 SAS (c/n 47623/728). Also notice the Malev Tu-154 on the far left.

Oh yeah!
Those are super shots Rob, wish mine were always as sharp. Mike Lima, you got off to a good start there, that's for sure. Guess I'll never see one of those big Antonov turboprops here in Vermont. (Though once in a while, and always at night, something big would go droning over that certainly wasn't a Hercules. Never have seen it in daylight, and haven't heard it in a year or so). Nice additions, guys-I'll look in the old shoe box for a few more shots soon.

Good evening,

I have just received my photo and slide scanner and I will need some time to discover its possiblities, but here is a first result, a slide scan.
9Q-CBG, a Douglas DC-4 of Air Congo at Brussels on 7 September 1969.

Fine start, Peter. Great photo subject from back in time. Looking at the blue sky I think you may have a little too much of either unsharp mask (USM), or sharpening, but only a little. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Jeffrey,
Nice look at a vintage cockpit. I don't see a digital display anywhere in the photo! (I do see one digital readout device-perhaps a clock or elapsed time indicator), but it appears to be a mechanical-electrical type, not an electronic display.

Rob,
Wonderful images from your collection once again! Back in the days when many airlines actually owned their aircraft. Lots of smoke, and not just the Convairs!

Good afternoon,

In addition to my slide scan of 9Q-CBG, I have a few negative scans of aircraft at Rotterdam airport, taken at 15th of April, 1968.

2. KLM BAC 1-11 G-ATPJ. This aircraft was leased from British Eagle

3. Polaris Air Transport Convair CV-240 LN-KAP
Image

4. British Air Ferries ATL-98 Carvair G-APNH

I hope you like them.

Kind regards,

Wonderful images, Peter. I always thought the Britannia was a high mark in airliner design for that era. Just look at the size of the engine nacelles on it! The whispering giant, I think they called her. Living on this side of the pond I only saw one or two of them. Thanks for sharing these great shots!

Originally msn 1548, a DC-3-178 NC16012, del 11 September 1936, converted to DC-3S msn 43193 on 2 August 1950. Seen at Barnes Muni AP on 13 March 1965, likely operated by Northwestern Refining Co. of St. Paul, MN.

Hello Tom,

Thanks once again for your remarks. In additon I must say I like your contibution a lot and hope to see more of you (and others) in the future. I will slowly work through my collection of slides and negatives and hope to present some more. Until now, I am not satisfied with the scans of my colour negatives, I hope I will find out how to do this properly.

Finally I have one more negative scan. It is Fokker F-27-100 PH-FSH of Spantax approaching Ypenburg airbase on 17th August 1967. It has c/n 10106, which makes it one of the first Friendships built.
