Last one was temporary on QRA station at Ramstein, during the transformation of F-4 to F-16.

Two more F-111s!
One on the flightline of Chièvres during the airshow of 1986.

And a EF-111A landing at Upper Heyford in July 1985.

TAM (Tactical Air Meet) 1982 was held at Jever and Wittmund. While Jever housed the attack and recce tasked jets including USAFE F-4E's , Wittmund played host to A/D tasked types. Apart from based F-4F's, these included RAFG Phantoms, Belgian F-16's and USAFE F-15's.

The Open House at Ahlhorn (then a USAFE A-10 FOL) on 22 September 1984 featured a helicopter winching contest. Among the contenders was this UH-1N 69-6611 from the 67ARRS, det Zaragoza.

Later still, in 1988, the NATO Tactical Air Meet was held at CFB Baden Sollingen. USAFE sent these beauties, apart from F-15's and F-16's.

Wow Hans!! some very nice catches at the TAM at Söllingen, great stuff, that are the pics I hoped for, all those NATO exercises in Europe with AFRES, ANG and of course USAFE jets that visited Europe back in the 80's. I remembered that Denmark also was a good host of the shows.

Maybe a start of another topic;-)

Good to see them, Peter!
Where you with the Onze Luchtmacht flight with F.27 C-11 as well that day? Did you fly one sector or both ways?

I went the other way. Flew in via Strassbourg shooting some of ER33's Magisters and went back by bus on the night "we" won the Euro Cup.
Memories....

A behind the scenes player within USAFE during the sixties, seventies and eighties was Silk Purse. This codename was given to a number of Boeing EC-135H with 10 ACCS as airborne command posts. 61-0291 was seen at the 1988 Mildenhall Air Fete on 28 May that year.
