My pictures of 1996 (part 1, 39 photos)

Post by LifelinerOne »

Hello everybody,

now that the season hasn't started yet, I have started with scanning all my old pictures. You need to do something on these dark nights, isn't it. I started taking pictures in 1995, but in that year I only took some 40 pictures and not much special. 1996 was the year when things took off. It's really nice to relive all those moments behind the camera while scanning and enhancing these golden oldies. So, I decided to make you all a participant of some of the nicer things from 1996. This is part 1, from January till June.

The KLu was still flying with those great Troopships with that nice sound of the RR Dart engines:

Air Holland was also still around:

This untitled IL-18 was a frequent visitor on Sundays, picking up flowers:

SABENA was still flying to Amsterdam:

easyJet was just a little airline and had just started flying to Schiphol:

Triangle Airline was also a frequent Oost-customer with it's B707 5X-TRA:

British Airways had the Landor-livery and was operating B737-200's:

Istanbul Airlines was also a frequent flyer with classic jetliners:

VARIG flew with DC-10's:

Swissair was still alive and kicking:

Heavylift leased this Herc from Pelita Air:

And Avistar was becoming quite boring, but is now a nice memory!:

Iran Air flew with those great Boeing 747SP's to Schiphol:

TriStars could also be seen, like this Air Ops example:

Just a nice visitor was this BAC1-11 from British World:

KLM Cityhopper still operated the F28:

British Midland flew with ATP's, next to the usual B737's:

On May 5th, the DDA rolled-out their nicely restored PH-DDZ:

China Airlines used Mandarin Airlines for their flights:

And this L1011 from CaribJet was a great surprise:

Iberia also had some classics left in their fleet:

Thai with the MD-11 was a regular:

Air Holland leased an B757 to Air Europa and after the lease it resulted in this colorscheme:

Good old Gulf Air was also a regular airline:

And JAT was leasing this B737 to Irish CityJet, but used the plane for itself sometimes:
