LOG W&R The Netherlands (Arnhem and vintage gliders) 2-8-15

Post by patrick dirksen »

Hi all,

A nice sunny Sunday and the Vintage Glider Club Rally being held in The Netherlands, a nice combination :-)
No early start necessary for a change, and no hours of driving needed. However also in our own country there still are a few W&R we still need, so a little detour was made.

Arnhems Oorlogsmuseum 40-45, Arnhem

0812 MiG-21PF pr, nose, converted to small jet aircraft

This privately owned MiG has been lended to the museum since last April. It is outside and visible from the parking lot of the museum.

Terlet

XE802 Cadet TX.3 BGA5283
WZ795 Grasshopper TX.1 BGA3488, f/n SSK/FF2027 and RF2062
WB946 Sedbergh TX.1 PH-799
WJ306 Sedbergh TX.1 BGA3240, named "Daisy"
BGA3195 Sedbergh TX.1 (ex WB989)
BGA4746 Cadet TX.3 (ex XN250)
HB-557 Cadet TX.3 (ex WT909)
OY-XEF Olympia 2 (ex Z-962)
PH-1163 Motor Tutor (ex Cadet TX.3 WT868)
PH-KNF L-21B glider tug (ex R-136)

XE802 used to be based at Shipdham, but is nowadays flying from a place near Plymouth. WB946 is based at Soesterberg.
A very friendly and open atmosphere here, with a few gems present. I made no less than 7 here, more than expected. Plus there are of course many civil vintage gliders, for those interested. The rally will end at August 6, so there is still time to go and get them!

As always, additions, corrections and comments are very welcome.

That's all folks!
