Leeuwarden Show trip W&R.

Post by Tim Jones »

Heading to the show and land at Amsterdam early evening on the Thu.

We plan to visit Zwanenburg, Hoodwoud and Sexbierum en route our hotel.

After the show on Friday we plan to visit Zwolle, Teuge for the IL-18, hotel? Apledoorn TS-11, Nieuw Millingen F-104, Beekbergen P-149 and Barneveld.

Can anybody please confirm the aircraft are still visible and still there?

Also have the aircraft at VTOC moved? I see in EMOOS there was a planned move in the spring this year?

Many thanks,

Tim.

VTOC has moved to Aalsmeer, AFAIK Nieuw Millingen's Starfighter isn't visible from outside.

Hi Tim,

All the planes are still there. Regarding VTOC. If you want to take pictures at the VTOC, you can forget it. It is not allowed to take pictures of the planes over there...... I do not know if they let you in to see the planes.... Planes can't been seen from outside.

Have a nice trip and good luck.

Maybe you can go from LWD to Zwolle via Emmeloord (Marknesse.) At Brennels there are a MiG21 and a Mi-8.

Hi Erik,

I took a picture around 14.00 hours. The light is fine around this time (or later).

Hope it helps.

Hi Erik,

I don't agree with Peter. See my picture in Scramble 385, page 65. I took this picture at 10.00 h.

Hi Tim,

By coincedence I called the VTOC this morning, to see wether a visit can be arranged for some or your fellow countrymen. The answer was a short and definitive ''no'' unfortunately. I still need them myself actually....
