request: online receivers

Post by slednah »

I'm want to pick up my old hobby again but I still haven't got a decent receiver yet. So I was wondering where I can listen to military aviation on an online receiver? I had a look at liveatc.net but the offer is overwhelming and mostly civil. But Andrews for example is near Washington so I think many a/c check in on a civil freq or not?

A few years ago there was a German site (I think) which offered Langen rdr 129,67 for Ramstein Traffic. Is this still online?

Are there other sites that are worth listening and which frequencies do you monitor?

Is there a possibility to monitor 11175,0 on globaltuners?

Thanks for any answers.

you might give http://www.liveatc.net/ a try with several atc Feeds.

Or for HF SDR : http://websdr.org/

Good luck.

Thanks Joost,

but like I said, the offer on liveatc.net is so overwhelming. Which feeds offer a big chance on mil traffic?

Liveatc is good for some things, but 95% of their feeds are VHF frequencies only, some airports that even have military aircraft you will never hear them, because none of them carry the UHF frequencies, thats why i monitor with 5-6 scanners i can split all the frequncies up VHF and UHF.At least 40-50% of what is on my list for Huntsville logs is UHF frequencies.

Dutchmil/Bandbox/and some other military radarstations.

Last remark. Dutchmil and Bandbox no groundstation is heared because of the distance from my location to the locations mentioned.

Just picked up Hook54 in the climb hdg 330 out of Tinker on KOKC radar frequency. Not too bad for a first catch after years :-)
