Italyan Navy

Post by Janos »

For receiving of Militair aircraft I use mostly my homemade 137.5 MHz QFH antenna
which I made for receiving weather satellite photo's. This antenna works very well for
Millsat satellite- and aircraft receiving, civil and militair also.
At the Gamma bouwmarkt I bought two 40-862 MHz ajustable antenna amplifiers for
13 euros each. I placed one just after the antenna and the other one just before the scanner.
This gives a very good receiving result (no noice ampliflieïng).
Here a short fragment of a recording I made this afternoon from a Radio-test from the
Italyan Navy at 258.2000 MHz FM from the Sicral 1 Millsat satellite.

That's right. Please post a picture for all readers of this forum Janos. Don't keep it too yourself, since you already shared the info off making the antenne.

The QFH antenna is placed 3 meter from the ground at the shed next to my house.
From the antenna there goes a 75 Ohm coax cable to my house.
Just in my house I placed the first amplifier. From there goes a piece of about 30 meters
of the same coax to my hobby-room at the 3th floor of my house.
Between the coax-end and the scanner I placed the second amplifier.
I know it's not with the regular rules, but it works perfect.
Because of the ,,round,, seeing of the antenna it works great for aircraft and satellites
(Millsat, ISS, Space-Shuttle etc.)
