Captain Peter Dekker is approaching his last flight because of retiring at KLM.
This is flight KL895-896 to PVG-Shanghai. After returning another 3 trips to go.
This flight got operated by the PH-BFF and PH-BFW.
Not to be rude or so, but for my understanding, what is the difference for us to know that a unknown pilot (for I guess 99,9% of us) has got one of its last flights. The video would be similar if you had just mentioned KLM 747 approaching Shanghai. Nice video though.
Her career started at 1981 as Officer Pilot at the Royal Navy. She was also First Officer at the A310,
B747-300 and 400 , MD11 and finally a couple of months at the B777.
Last flight was to JFK with KL 641-642 operated by the PH-BQA and PH-BQH.
Frans did have his last flight,ending his career at KLM at the B777.
Flight KL875-876 to BKK - Bangkok operated with the PH-BVK and
returnflight with the brandnew PH-BVN.

Op 4 mei 2015 deed de Spitfire van de Koninklijke Luchtmacht Historische Groep een fly by over Borne om een groet te brengen aan de vlieger die op 9 november 1944 zijn Spitfire boven Borne moest verlaten in verband met motor pech.
Sinds 1991 komt voormalig Spitfire piloot Taylor naar Borne om op 4 mei samen met nabestaanden en buurtgenoten stil te staan bij het landkruis aan de Mekkelhorstweg. De plek waar hij op 19 november 1944 aan zijn parachute landde, omdat hij door motorpech noodgedwongen zijn Spitfire PR.XI PL 957 moest verlaten. Het vliegtuig had geen wapens aan boord, maar was ‘bewapend’ met twee grote fotocamera’s.
Omdat hij onvindbaar bleef executeerden de Duitsers op 19 november een Bornse jongen en een week later op de landingsplek drie onschuldige buurtgenoten. Taylor wist via omzwervingen in Delden, Zutphen en Rhenen de Rijn te bereiken, maar werd daar alsnog door de Duitsers gepakt en overgebracht naar het krijgsgevangenkamp Stalag Luft 1 bij Barth in Noord-Duitsland, speciaal voor de geallieerde luchtmacht. Daar werd hij op 30 april 1945 door de Russen bevrijd.
Ambtenaar Hennie Noordhuis kon de RAF-veteraan pas in 1990 van de gebeurtenissen op 19 en 25 november 1944 in kennis stellen, een telefoontje dat zijn leven ingrijpend veranderde.
