Watch the amazing images of Swiss Air Force F-18 Hornets doing air patrol missions from Meiringen Air Base under a heavy Snowstorm. Modern fighter jets can takeoff and landing also when there is no visibility like in some scenes of this unique video. Plane spotting at Meiringen Air Base is a unique experience to see fighter jets in real action very close.

Nice video!

What happened with the Hornet at 2.35? It starts with full afterburner and the after a few seconds throttles down and goes full into the brakes. Was that abort a training or did something happen?

The first Hornet arrived, aligned and took off in a "normal" interval of time.
The second one stayed aligned a lot more time than normal and it start to take off and aborted. So I belive it was not a planned abortion. I think it should take taken off but it was aborted fro some issues.
