On 12 April 2025, a Ukrainian Air Force F-16AM fighter was lost during a combat mission, reportedly in Sumy Oblast. The pilot, kapitan Pavlo Ivanov, did not survive.

Pavlo Ivanov was retrained from the Su-25 to fly the F-16.

On 15 Jan 2026 it will be relocated to Viterbo
