'NATO Tiger Meet 03' Cambria France, Picture heavy.

EC01.012 hosted NTM 03 at Cambria, the painting of their Mirage 2000C has perhaps still not been surpassed. They hosted an open morning and an airshow on the last weekend which was legendary in its types of visiting aircraft. To see more visit my blog site:-https://legendarymilavia.blogspot.com/2020...

RAF St Mawgan hosts Ample Train 1993 fast jet heavy.

Back in May 1993 RAF St Mawgan became home to some exciting fast jets for the NATO exercise Ample Train '93. Nearly unheard of back then the training would include Greek Mirage 2000's, and Turkish airforce F-16s alongside these great machines we had Italien airforce F-104's and Soesterburg based USA...

Merlin action at RNAS Yeovilton.

Only four years ago the iconic 'Junglie' SeaKings had been retired, I thought that was a good time to see some new Navy hardware in action.

Hungarian Airforce visit 2003.

Back in 2003, I was fortunate enough to get a visit to the Hungarian airforce. The following photographs were all taken on Fuji Velvia slide film. For me, the most evocative aircraft would be the Mi-24s, during my briefing I was asked what I might expect of this aircraft and its pilots, well that wa...

ALAT Gulf War colours and more at Compiegne’94

Sadly the French Army base at Compiegne has passed from Military operations to civil. Back in the early Nineties and before it was a bustling base to visit, here are a few from there show in 1994. 1. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48676287896_bc3f2488c2_b.jpg Compiegne with the l'Armee de Terre...

Swedish Draken at Bournemouth airport Friday afternoon

Thought I would kill a bit of time at (Hurn) Bournemouth airport Friday afternoon, during the airshow. It turned out to be a nice couple of hours in what must have been one of Britains best weeks for Military aviation in a decade? 1. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48657837386_96ce20995a_b.jpg B...

Thank you all, yes they have retired as I posted that was a wee bit earlier in the year, both the Hawk and Tucano, hence the deep blue sky. Everything else is bang up to date.

A day out on the SPTA and visit to Boscombe Down.

With a few days to spare recently, I decided to spend some time out on the SPTA and earlier in the year on a very nice day I sat at Boscombe, patience and a good book seems to work? 1. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48608727167_dba23fbc19_b.jpg Salisbury plain and Boscombe Down-9 by Michael Fis...
