Re: Frisian Flag 2015

Why do you conclude there are likely not the same? The deployment is supposed to be for 6 months after all. Erwin If the deployment would last this long I wouldn't be surprised as the deployment is actually made up by several units which was common practice with the Southern and Northern Watch depl...

From a reliable source I heard that beside the Finish and Spanish F-18's, the F-15's and the German Typhoons also a detachment of Polish and Portuguese F-16's should take part.

Re: PICS: A-10 Warthog emergency Schiphol Amsterdam Fri13feb

What has happened? On the video you can clearly see the A10 far to high for 22 even for an A10. On the liveatc I could only hear that he was supposed to come in on 24. Traffic on 24 had to wait and a police helicopter over the city as well. On the liveradar it looks like it was a problem somewere c...

This is pretty fabulous news!

Six month deployments like those in Korea and Kadena is even better than based aircraft!

Tweet from malaysian MoD: Super Hornet and B-52 confirmed Not that it is the most interesting item but it's strange that the Rafale demo is still not listed. The latest update on the LIMA website is from January 20th! Also the Thai Air Force (both the JAS-39 demo as well as the Blue Phoenix team wa...

Re: REQ: Very very long shot! Wittstock 11-3-1994

I can strongly recommend the excellent book "Sowjetische Fliegerkräfte Deutschland 1945-1994 - Band 4" by Lutz Freund, as well as the preceding 3 books (although these 3 do not focus on numbers). For the MiG-23UBs in Wittstock it only mentions blue- and outline-codes, the abovementoned 2 ...

Hello! Last flying day of 33. IAP in Wittstock was 29.03.1994. Mig-23 UB left Wittstock on 16.03.94. (66 and 68) Mig-29 left Wittstock on 07.04.94 via Damgarten. Mig-29 number 35 white is a misread. 35 left Wittstock in 1990/91. Mig29 UB 55w left Wittstock on 29.03.94 via Damgarten. .No 56bl in Wit...

Re: US: F-35s to Europe in 2020, Mildenhall closes

Question how will local German's take the news of having an extra 15 KC-135's operating from Ramstein, and the noisy CV-22 at Spangahlem????? Thought the Germans were very noise sensitive ????????? Can't really see Ramstein shelters being any use for the KC-135's.... Well if they have someth...

Re: US: F-35s to Europe in 2020, Mildenhall closes

Spangdahlem now named as home for C-130s and CV-22, surprisingly. Could point to F-16s moving elsewhere. The shelter area at Ramstein has recently been refurbished if I'm not mistaken.... Remember that Spagdahlem housed four fightersquadrons only 15 years or so ago. No need to move the sold remaini...
