Re: Wunstorf (ETNW) 2023

Sorry, wrong topic! My comments relate to Hohn and Jagel of course. Sincere apologies!

Re: Wunstorf (ETNW) 2023

Agree. And usually a quite (& quiet !) long lunch break as the fighters start their afternoon missions pretty late (which makes for - light-wise - interesting (challenging when you're in the wrong spot) photos)..

Just go and have fun, it will all become clear when you're there. :-)

Re: Schleswig-Jagel (ETNS/WBG) 2023

PS I made a mistake earlier: A-10 78-689/MI was 1 of the pair with travel pods that went to the Baltics, it's not FY79..

Apologies.

Re: Schleswig-Jagel (ETNS/WBG) 2023

No, I believe all 4 that flew were put outside their HAS well before 3 PM. 3 singles and 1 dual.

The 2 A-10s that had a day out to the Baltics returned to Jagel, along with all 14 of the afternoon mission.

Re: Schleswig-Jagel (ETNS/WBG) 2023

So far today:
4x Tornado
2x THK F-16
7× ANG F-16 (incl. AL tail)
4x A-10

Runway 05 in use.

Unlike Hohn yesterday no warning for birds at runway end, so low transitions are allowed. (Some did)

No Gripens as yet.

Erik, always the long runway 05/23. So 05 these days guaranteed.

Re: Air Defender 2023

This was already the case yesterday. Strong request from local police at both Hohn and Jagel to keep (access roads to) crash gates free at all times. Please take all litter with you and do not tamper with the fence, respect farmland and tread carefully. Thanks

Re: Air Defender 2023 serial overview.

Patrick, the badge on tail of 2 of the Tiffies is some kind of NATO (air policing?) sticker.

Other than that they look as boring as the Finnish Hornets..

Re: Air Defender 2023

Siauliai it was. But that was Mighty1 flight, 2 MassANG Eagles including the former Kadena one. (Aviation Geek side note: Also the OT one flew today, yihaaww.) These were the first departures this morning, apart from the early 3-ship Super Bugs. Recovering at 18.45 is not an evening mission; I meant...

Re: Air Defender 2023

The stranded C-130 at Hohn is still behind the GFD platform, so north of the line of Tiffies. Also at Hohn no evening mission, though a lady in charge of security around the base mentioned they were open (tower manned) till 10 pm.
