Re: KNZY/NAS North Island June-July 2022 MIL/CIV

A few more. The 160th SOAR really caught me by surprise. #1, this was the first time I'd seen them near runway 29, usually they are over the bay, and #2, they really don't fly during the day that much. So these photos are backlit and not that great (if I bring up the Shadow slider all the way I get ...

Re: KNTD/Pt Mugu Aug 2022 MIL/Gray Flag + civvies

Thanks for all the comments. Truly, this is only a very small part of the jets we saw. I'm really bummed the chrome F-35s never came anywhere near us, and the paint on the VX-23 birds was very cool as well. Phoenix has checkerboard flags on at least 3 of it's planes. The EMB shown here at one time b...

Re: Edwards AFB air show 15-16 Oct

Well, I am planning on being at Edwards, and I would love to see it, even if it is just a mockup. For what it is worth, I've read that the mockup was filmed at China Lake, and nobody online seems to have a credible idea of it's current location. Off course, there is plenty of time to move it to Edwa...

Re: REQ: Point Mugu

I've only seen 2 chrome -35Cs, XE-105 and XE-100. The other 2 VX-9 F-35Cs were XE-102 and XE-106, definitely not chromed. Sadly, of the 3 dozen jets that launched this morning, only the 'red' F-117 (841, thanks Melchior) landed on runway 21, the rest came in on 3. I've already decided to stay anothe...

27 Aug

USAF Boeing C-17 (99-0062 according to adsb) has flown past the living room at least 3 times today. Looking at the flight path on adsb, looks like they are dropping parachutists in the south bay.

The F-117s are getting a run for their money as far as most unique aircraft at the base. I've seen photos of 64th AGRS F-35s, a 'chrome' VX-9 F-35C, and a Dust Devil Growler hauling the new jamming pod, all at Mugu over the past few days.

Edwards AFB air show 15-16 Oct

For the tldr types, here is the official page: https://avairshow.com/ It's really a unique show, where else can you park your car on a space shuttle landing field? NASA and the USAF will display and or fly most of their Edwards inventories. USAF flying and static displays: B-1, F-22, F-35, B-52, F-1...
