Re: 8 June: Spottersday 50 Years JG74

Well, I submitted via e-mail with a request for a "read receipt." That ws on the first day applications were open. No receipt and nothing in the post.

The race is on between snail-mail and our departure!!

Re: 8 June: Spottersday 50 Years JG74

One more question, to register I've sent an e-mail with the details requested. Is this right or is there a separate application that I have to fill in and send? Thanks. You are expected to download a .pdf application form from the link provided; complete that and return it attached to an e-mail or ...

Info Request - Serial / Codes for 41 Sqn Jaguar T2 1985

Can anyone help please with information on the 41 Sqn Jaguar T2 at RAF Coltishall in September 1985 please?

I think from memory it was coded "S" but would be grateful for confirmation of that and the serial. Any picture from that time frame would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: RAF Vulcan experts-req for unit ID

Thanks all for the replies. OK then, well, I see I should have jumped in with a "thank you" before the Maggie critique got rolling. So, with the City of Lincoln badge, was it on both sides of the tailfin, or should I check my negs to see what the opposite side tailfin might show to determine the sq...

Re: RAF Planes May Be Used For Holiday Flights

It makes me ashamed to see just how bankrupt, both financially and morally, my country has become. The tanker fleet we have is ageing and over-stretched with current Operations. We are told that the "war on terror" will last for many years. It seems inconceivable to me that these 14 A330s will ever ...

Re: Experience regarding buying lenses from the USA?

Fellow aviation photographers, I'm about to buy the Canon 100-400 lens. Present prices in Holland are 1400 euro and up. Website below offers this lens for 1400 USD, that's around 1000 euro. Including shipping, it will cost me around 1021 euro. What are the problems I will face with customs,taxpayer...

Re: What is a ?

I think serial N1009U was used for both a Caravelle and a Mooney, as they often do in the US. N1009U used to be a Mooney M20M according to the FAA, but is has been exported to Belgium as OO-URA. Regards, Pim Right, so the registration database they used was not up-to-date and referred back to the t...

Re: UK Spotting Trip

Where are you crossing to arrive in the UK? I think that Odiham, Lyneham, Boscombe and Brize are a long way to go for fairly quiet airfields. IMHO the three best bases are Coningsby, Lakenheath and Mildenhall - the last pair are only 10 Km apart and you can drive between the LKH/MLD pair to CGY in a...

Re: Koninklijke Luchtmacht sells again 18 F-16's to Chile

According to the Chile gvmt. they have bought 18 F-16's from the KLU. source: rtlnieuws. Well, according to Jack de Vries our F-16's are so old that they really can not be used much longer and we must buy the JSF as soon as possibe. Maybe he has rewound the internal clock of the F-16's before selli...

Re: F-22A Raptors for the Marine Corps

Is there not a problem here? The Marines have never had an organic Air Defence capability - the Marine air element has the role of supporting the Marines on the Ground. True, with the F4 and latterly the F/A18 they have had a swing fighter capability, but not a decicated AD role. I get the snse this...
