About the 300mm f/4: I am considering it

I've now shot with Lars' 400mm f/5.6
Great lens indeed, but I did miss the IS somewhat.
I'd love to try the 300, but haven't found anyone who uses one.

Maybe I'll rent one.

Good pics Rene.....i´m not gonna make it easier for you.....cause looking at the images, the 100-400 is a very good lens, but the 400 prime has "dat snaarstrakke" what a prime makes a prime..... :wink: I know And now that I have shot with both lenses, I still don't know which one I want. I'm edging...

Got one more...maybe more will follow

It's a fantastic lens :) But I also really like the 100-400. The 744 is shot with the 100-400, the A319 is shot with the 400. So both lenses give great results. I noticed the focus of the 400 is sometimes a bit "iffy". And for the head-on shots I kinda missed the IS. Something that will also be vita...

I'm annoyed by my results today. New Years resolution: shoot more planes

I just noticed that the truck actually pics up the entire front gear. I thought it locked on and pulled (like a trailer).

Ik probeer iedere keer als ik ga spotten (helaas te weinig) wel een keer m'n panningshots te oefenen.
En ik schiet dan inderdaad op Tv mode

Nr 2 en 4 zijn de favorieten! Hoe krijg je het voor elkaar bij nr 4 zo scherp? Als ik maak met mijn canon 70-300 zit er nog altijd veel ruis nr 2 is overigens ook mooi scherp met zo'n donkere/grijze achtergrond Panning shots zijn moeilijk IS aan op stand 2, camera instellen op "continu" en véél oef...

I've heard a similar story.
Although the 300mm f/4L should be faster and more precise with AF

And I hope I get a chance to shoot with the other lens on my list. The 400 f/5.6

The same plane flew over Eindhoven as well

So far, I really like it. I want to use it a bit more.
But I'm also really curious about the quality and usage of a prime. So I won't buy one yet
