Re: National Naval Aviation Museum - NAS Pensacola - NPA

Oz, I went to a BA practice about 18 months ago, which was at both around 0900 and 1300 on that day - the USN and USAF trainers were flying. The USAF T1s had already gone out earlier that morning and came back after the first practice, then the USN and USAF T6s took off and came back before the seco...

Re: NAS North Island MIL 2018

Dmitri Brown Field often has USMC F18s from Miramar, plus other visiting military. I've usually seen military there, but no guarantees Between North Island and Brown Field is Imperial Beach, which the helicopters from North Island use for training - last time I went there it was about 1700 on a Frid...

Re: Spotting directions for North Island/Miramar/Camp Pendle

Definitely seen Miramar Hornets flying out of NI on a Saturday a couple of years ago, together with a few helicopter movements. If you drive/go up to Fort Rosencrans or Cabrillo, which are worth visiting anyway, you get a great overview of most of the field. Miramar is difficult in my experience and...

Re: REQ: weekend flying at Yuma and Nellis?

Paul
I stopped off at Yuma in March around lunchtime on the Saturday of the El Centro show. There were two based Harriers flying - sort of very long circuits. As per other post, do check around the FBO for visitors.
Well worth a stop!

Possible Laughlin AFB tour

I'm planning to visit Texas+ in October for the Ellington and Little Rock Airshows. I've just been talking to the PAO at Laughlin AFB about a tour. They might do something if I can arrange a group visit, so I'd like to know if anyone else would be interested in visiting too? Given the show dates, I'...

Brazil help/advice

Can anybody provide any info re mil aviation in Brazil - photography rather than serials.

I can see the airfield guides and Google Maps, trying to get a sense of attitude of authorities, typical flying times/days, good/bad places to visit etc
