Re: A day at the beach....Vietnam style

Lovely! Too bad the L39s have left (although maintenance may still be carried out at Nha Trang, saw a few in the hangars/sheds). Did you get any visitors? Last year I only had 1 An26. I read somewhere the Fitters used to be based here, can you imagine that?! Off-topic, but a nice propaganda video of...

Re: Kisten die terugkeren naar Schiphol, incidenten, enz.

Vond het al zo raar, een MD.11 low level gear down in een scherpe bocht over Amstelveen buiten de gangbare aanvliegroutes..

Correct Wijgert, many KLu pilots received their training with the (R)CAF at the time on Tutors and Musketeers.

Travis AFB (KSUU/SUU) - 2011 MIL

Req: Travis from outside

Anyone any experience with this base? I am into pics, don't care about serials. The Zaragoza-style lay-out make it even more difficult I guess, but how about the corner of Creed Rd and Branscombe Rd? The northeast side seems inaccessible..

Thanks in advance!

Hi Erik, something would be terribly wrong with that An28 if the gear would not be down.. :-)

Re: Reims-Champagne (LFSR) - 2011 MIL

Hi Wim, good intel! What's your source? We were at Reims a few times recently and even for the locals it was all up in the air it seemed. End of May would be a convenient date for us!

Thnx

PS Tuesday normally is also available for evening operations.

Re: Reims-Champagne (LFSR) - 2011 MIL

Both days are supposed to have nightflying regularly. But in the past this did not seem to result in a decrease in morning activities. At the moment it is all a bit irregular and unpredictable though. Just go with an open mind, enjoy and don't get too hung up on quantities.. Now is the time to catch...

Re: Reims-Champagne (LFSR) - 2011 MIL

Well it looks like the planned move of the duals (mid-April) is postponed, so it could be the Libya operations have halted all other non-critical activities for now and the F1s stay at Reims a bit longer. Just speculation though, but I doubt that the squadron can maintain presence at 2 airbases (Rei...

Re: Reims-Champagne (LFSR) - 2011 MIL

Both Good Friday and Easter Monday are public holidays in France so definetely the B's won't fly neither won't the single-seaters for ordinary sorties I guess. However, you could expect occasional arrivals from Solenzara for crews that will spend the Easter weekend with their families (and others de...

Sunny spells and western winds according to http://www.wetter.de/. :D

Plane-wise most likely some Phantoms and a couple of Skyhawks.

Good luck!

Fail to see the connection between RAAF Phantoms and this story, but never mind. Cool attempt!
