Thank you, Maurits! You are right with 82-0649. In the video I saw this aircraft, but I forgott selecting full screen modus to really check the "last three digits".

In awaiting the 81st EFS back home at Spang, let me post the following update: Meanwhile, 81-0952 is also identified by USAF photos as deployed to Bagram AB, Afghanistan. According to my PC software, both shots were already taken on May 2, 2008. They were released some days later at Spang´s public w...

To sentinel and all others: Unfortunately, the best guy who provided first-hand info of F-16 Moron stopovers in the past is currently deployed!. Please understand: To save this very important private source I will not disclose any further source details on this topic.

Special thanks for posting your log of A-10s, Leandro! And if all serial numbers and tailcodes are identified 100 % by eyewitnesses, that should be a big surprise! Please remember my reply from Wed, 23 Apr 2008 20:58: Probably in early May, an undisclosed number of A-10s from the 303rd FS, 442nd FW ...

The 335FS Eagles returned this evening to Seymour Johnson AFB as Mazda 41-45, Mazda 51-55 and Mazda 61 flight. That are only eleven aircraft, René! And I´m surprised that Mazda 61 returned as a single-ship. At least in my eyes, twelve aircraft were deployed (as a mix of jets from the 335th FS and t...

The 494th EFS at Bagram AB, Afghanistan

Thanks for your LN F-15E info, sentinel! The F-15E Strike Eagles of the 494th EFS from RAF Lakenheath finally arrived at Bagram AB, Afghanistan, to replace the 335th EFS for USAF´s upcoming AEF 3/4 (Cycle 7) rotation (May - August 2008). On their way back home to Seymour Johnson AFB the 335th EFS pr...

In the next couple of weeks ACC will swap again the three F-16 EFSs deployed at Balad AB, Iraq, for USAF´s upcoming AEF 3/4 (Cycle 7) rotation (May - August 2008). Most of the Vipers will go through Moron AB with the exception of the 23rd EFS which returns to Spang. Have watchful eyes and ears!

My post from Monday was based on info given by an "AEF Iron List" of Air Expeditionary Forces for Cycle 7, published by "Air Force Times" earlier this year. Sorry , but I overlooked that they called the 493rd FS an F-15E unit. In fact, this squadron is flying the F-15C. Thanks to a private message, ...

Thanks a lot, sentinel! It really looks plausible that they need no stopover in the Mediterranean before they reach Al Udeid AB, Qatar. And at least some radio info should be very helpful. But as well known to us: radio info is not 100% sure.

[...] The LN Eagles should be deploying to Afghanistan on Tuesday. Thanks, sentinel! They will deploy for USAF´s upcoming AEF 3/4 (Cycle 7) rotation (May - August 2008). It´s still unknown to me which squadron will deploy as an EFS - either the 493rd FS or the 494th FS, and possibly with a mix of t...

Maurits! Instead of 81-0954 (probably according to older scramble stuff), currently 80-0281 is special marked 81 FS as the squadron´s flagship. See: http://www.bagram.afnews.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123093620" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The exact number of deployed 81st EFS "Hogs"...

Roger, Leandro! And so I think, the returning Spang "Hogs" of the deployed 81th EFS should make at least a stopover at Sigonella, if not a final stopover in Italy after their redeployment from Bagram AB, Afghanistan, probably (as usual) via Al Udeid AB, Qatar. Related to that you can also await a sw...
