Re: eagles

I think you mean the F-18s should be leaving Lajes destination Sigonella - according to my sources. The two Hornet cells have separated as the second one is delayed.

Re: Hornets through Lajes

Thanks for the confirmation. Lajes spotters must be on overtime over the last few days. We envy you! Again any serial tie-ups and unit confirmation would be appreciated. Enjoy the Eagles and the Hornets. Gold 91 & Gold 92 and Mazda 41 flight are right now enroute to Lajes. The second cell maybe 24h ...

Re: Eagles

Eagles are Strike versions and should be replacing the 48th FW machines in Afghanistan. Any serials and unit confirmation would be nice before we lose track of them after their departure from Lajes. Not usual that the USAF deployments use Lajes - they would normally transit via Moron. Good news to t...

Hornets through Lajes

12 Hornets are deploying east early September. They will probably transit through Lajes and Sigonella.

As usual September is a good month for deployments if you happen to be in the right place at the righ time.

Lajes traffic

With the spate of movements going through Lajes this week do we have any confirmed sightings and serials which can be shared.

5 EA-6Bs
4 S-3s
4 F-16A/B
4 F-16I

The Navy must be in a rotation cycle with USAF assets to follow.

The Vikings have landed

I'm surprised that the S-3s are flying at all let alone that they are tanking across the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. I have never seen this before. What are the Vikings doing? Anyone knows why they are being deployed when they have been retired from the big decks?

Re: news

Good heads-up for the folks at Lajes. I wonder where will the Vikings be coming from. Thought they were no longer in use! The Pakistani F-16 are among the delivery package as this was well covered in the news. The rest will probably be Sufas. Hi, After some months again some news from my site, Lajes...

Re: more F-16s at Moron

It seems that 10 CONUS-based Vipers are on their way to Bulgaria in the next few days.

Any confirmation or news on this deployment? Does not seem to be an AEF-related coronet.

F-16s at Moron

About 18 F-16s should be on deck in Moron deploying eastbound. Any ideas which unit they come from?

They should be replacing the 52nd FW Vipers in Balad later this week.
