More F-16s heading east

Today there should be 8 F-16s at Moron deploying east probably to Balad. Any idea of units or possible serial confirmations? I'm aware this is a Lajes forum but I have not heard of any spotters around in Moron - seems to be one of those 'no go' zones. This also means that they will be replacing anot...

LN Eagles

I would much rather watch them then listen to them on radio but life is not perfect! The deployment has been delayed beyond tomorrow and as far as I know it seems they will go all the way to Qatar. [...] The LN Eagles should be deploying to Afghanistan on Tuesday. Thanks, sentinel! They will deploy ...

Eagles rotating

Roger, Leandro! And so I think, the returning Spang "Hogs" of the deployed 81th EFS should make at least a stopover at Sigonella, if not a final stopover in Italy after their redeployment from Bagram AB, Afghanistan, probably (as usual) via Al Udeid AB, Qatar. Related to that you can also await a s...

Re: av-8's

Any logs for these Harriers to confirm serials/unit? Due to bad weather, the AV-8's are on delay. New ETA is for tomorrow morning 10-4-2008. The Harriers returned from Lajes to Cherry Point today as Mazda 41 and Mazda 51 flight. Hope this helps, René. Coronet East deployments http://www.dutchmil.nl/...

Harriers going west

Ten AV-8Bs should be in Sigonella today heading statside via Lajes. I do not have any record of these Harriers deploying east in the last six months of so. The only ones I have are from VMA-231 which deployed in March 2007! So maybe someone can help with identifying these Harriers which I'm sure wil...

Harriers

Leandro's logs are impressive. Living in Lajes must be a sort of dream for guys like us.

I know that there is no such thing as spotting in Sigonella but could someone perhaps confirm if there are two stranded USMC Harriers there from the last visit?

I can confirm that MAZDA 31 was a flight of 4 or 5 EA-6Bs going Stateside. Can someone confirm if these are VMAQ-4 machines. They should already be on deck in Lajes with support KC-10 BLUE81.

Deployments east

In response to what Brian wrote re-Prowlers the information I have is that 4 EA-6Bs departed from Sigonella on 12 Mar 08 destination Al-Udeid in Qatar. Normally when they deploy to Qatar they are suppoting the operations in Afghanistan. I cannot confirm the unit of the Prowlers but they could well b...
