MLM Soesterberg 3-10-08

Recently I visited the Air Force Museum in Soesterberg and took a few pictures of the outdoor exhibitions ; I used my Asahi Pentax SPF camera which is nearly as old as MLM itself! :picture: Have a nice day! Tribute to the Thunderstreak and Thunderflash

An American scale modeler ask me what kind of color that is on the side and de wings. A decal producer say it is aqua blue, but to me it seems more mint green or something. Any one an idea about that? According to the book "Vliegend in Nederland/Thunderstreak"(author : G.Hiltermann), published by F...

a Tribute to the Thunderstreak and Thunderflash

A shot from Eindhoven in the "old" days.Dick Thank you very much for posting those superb pictures , Dick! :o Are you certain that they were taken at Eindhoven?  On second thought it is my opinion they date back to September 1969. In that month exercise "Green Express" took place at Karup in Denmar...

Re: Tribute to the Thunderstreak and Thunderflash

Don't bother Hans, I just love to see them, saw them in Greece but it was too tricky to go to the fence with a camera. All kind of people with 'schietpistolen'.I love your one man show! Greece , eh? That is my favorite holiday destination (after Turkey of course! :D ), but don't go too close near t...

Hi to you all! Twenty thousand views and counting : that's enough reason for a small celebration ! Well now : I believe it is high time to upgrade this Topic by pepping it up a little bit ; P-259 landing at Eindhoven in 1970 will do for the moment, I think.  This particular one ended its ca...

Hi all! nostalgia at its utmost with a picture of the entrance sign of Eindhoven AB in 1968 combined with close-ups of the tail-sections of two Thunderstreaks ; all of them featuring the emblems of 314 and 315 squadrons ; if somebody happens to be in the possession of emblem close-up pictures of Vol...

Tribute to the Thunderflash and Thunderstreak

This photograph shows the typical canopy construction of the Thunderstreak (photo 1); basically it looks very similar to the cockpit-design of the French Dassault Super Mystère as photo 2 shows. I wonder who was first , Republic or Dassault? :?: http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll269/bonzo452/3958...
