Kuwait next Eurofighter user

Post by Coati »

The Italian government and Kuwsit have signed an agreement for the supply of 28 EF2000 Eurofighters.

Reading the Alenia press release it looks like the EF2000 are redirected from the AMI. Anyone able to confirm if this is the case?

Anyway: again a big blow to Boeing, which again misses a Super Hornet order...

According some other publications the Super Hornet deal is still on. This is an expansion. Also Caracals were ordered.

The Caracal order dates back to June this year. Re the Italian Eurofighters: during an Airheadsfly.com visit to Turin earlier this year, several Typhoons were seen with MM numbers that have since not shown up in Italian service.
Answers will be questioned.....

Typhoons with MM at Caselle earlier this year are Tranche 3A for ItAF
ItAF & RAF Typhoons T3A are STORED at Caselle / Warton waiting for future delivery
GAF some days ago received first T3A from Manching (31+29)

Kuwait
for now it's only a MOU , we are waiting for a signed contract
Typhoons will be new built aircrafts

That's also what I'd read earlier, although back then there was talk about a Rafale/Super Hornet mix.
