...apparently only one survivor out of six crew on that Japanese Coastguard Dash Eight. :(
Aircraft supposedly had supplies onboard to deal with this year's earthquake, the coastguard was bound for Niigata airport.

But indeed, this could have been so much much much worse...

Tokyo's Metropolitan Police reported 5 of the occupants of the Dash 8 are confirmed dead.

Tokyo's fire department reported, the captain of the DH8C received serious injuries,
17 occupants of the A359 received injuries.

Passengers of the A359 reported the landing appeared normal at first,
after touchdown there was a thud and the outside lit up in orange.

A first announcement was made "please calm down"
followed by "do not take your luggage and do not stand up".

There was no clear announcement to evacuate, however,
when other passengers stood up they also stood up and thus escaped.

From Reuters:
... said Satoshi Yamake, 59, a telecommunications company worker who was on board. "The flight attendants told us to stay calm and instructed us to get off the plane."

Sky news is now reporting that the Dash 8 was not using an ADSB transponder, and has most likely failed to stop at the correct holding point for rwy 34R. Haneda ground didn‘t notice the mistake.
Terrible mistake that could indeed have had far more serious consequences.

A NOTAM was created on Dec 25th regarding unservicable stop-bars of 34R, which might also have contributed:
STOP-BAR-LGT FOR C1 THRU C14-U/S

...this Pprune-thread could be of interest to some:
https://www.pprune.org/accidents-close- ... rport.html

...of course we will have to wait for the results of the official :!: investigation,
but perhaps
https://www.pprune.org/accidents-close- ... st11567972
and further on (scroll down! )
may be useful.
See the diagrams and images at
https://www.pprune.org/accidents-close- ... st11567972 ....

The nose of the Airbus A350 may have hit the horizontal stabiliser of the high T-tailed Dash-Eight.
Say at the same level where the feet and toes
of both JAL-pilots would have been... :|

Perhaps in 2025 or so we may see similar diagrams/images
in publications of the official Japanese investigating authorities...
