Hi all,

Like many, many others we visited the Tiger Meet last weekend. On our way there and back we made a few stops, and here are the results.

Amiens-Glicy (28-6)

1811/JCL AS.350BA Gendarmerie
2088/JCR AS.350BA Gendarmerie
2010 SA.319B pr, ex gendarmerie, with some panels of 2202
13147/G-72 L-4J (F-BCPK) real id 45-4407 (this is the right markings and not 13172 like mentioned in EMOOS!)

Access to the Gendarmerie hangar was no problem when we asked, nice. One more former mil Cub (F-BDTT) should be present here, and according to locals there indeed lives one more Piper here, but it was supposed to be in a closed hangar. I peeked under the doors and it definately wasn't there, so maybe it was flying, who knows.....

Yvetot (28-6)

? C-11 dump, frame

Apart from some light tin (including not ex mil Bu.131 F-PCSY and Bu.133 F-AZHC!) only this wreck was found at the back of the hangars. Otger vd Kooy mentioned this in Scramble 348, and said it has c/n 172527, which we couldn't find on it. I did find a plate on the frame which gave 17 26 01 though! Where is the c/n plate supposed to be located?

Le Havre-Octeville (28-6)

F-ZBPQ EC.145 Sec Civile
616/3-IG Mirage IIIE fire dump

Some more warbirds should live here, but although a guy in the restaurant confirmed this access was not possible since the airfield (and thus some of the hangars) are closed on Saturday afternoon!

Le Memorial de Caen (28-6)

45 rd MiG-21R pr, real id Czech AF 1903, no mks

This is preserved well inside, and can't be seen without access. We were lucky enough to get access for a quick look without paying the huge entrance fee thanks to a nice young lady ;-) Take exit 7 of the Northern ring road and go northbound, go right at the second roundabout, straight on over the next one and after 400 meters the Memorial is on your right hand side (it is also signposted).

Caen aerodrome (28-6)

About half of the hangars here were visited. According to locals the owner of the Bulldog, IAR-823, Yak-50 and PT-13 moved those to the South of France (and sold on the Yak-50 afterwards). No precise destination was known unfortunately. problem is that 2 Bulldogs should be present, and one guy said one was in a hangar at the end (which obviously was closed and spotter proof). The Noratlas is on the other side by the way, where to our surprise we found another few hangars. To get here you leave the airfield (from the civil terminal) and follow the road around the fence leftbound. Take the first left and follow your nose towards the airfield. you'll see some hangars and finally the Noratlas will appear as well.

Dinard-Pleurtuit (28-6)

Dinan-Trelivan (28-6)

80 CM.170 pr, no mks

According to EMOOS 2 MS.733's should live here, 196/F-BNEj and 200/F-BMQC/F-AZTH. The one we saw was stored in the back of a big brownish/yellow hangar and didn't look like it was going to move soon. I saw a log mentioning F-AZTH on the Sunday, I presume this is airworthy by now and thus we saw 196 in the hangar. But obviously confirmation would be nice!

And after driving some 1200 km we arrived at Landivisiau where we had a look at the aircraft from the outside before going to our hotel in Brest.
Next morning we took a quick look at the Marine museum in town since we were told that a Super Etendard was present there.

Brest (29-6)

25 Super Etendard pr, 11 F mks

This actually was near the museum on the quay, probably present already for the Tour de France festivities. A nice one, since it was one of only a few I needed. Apparently this one is wfu.
After this we went to the airshow, which I won't repeat here.

When we were done we had a long way back ahead of us, since we al had to work again on Monday. But still there was time for a few quick stops obviously ;-)

Morlaix-Ploujean (29-6)

500 CM.170 F-AZUS, GIA in flyable condition

The technical school which owns this Fouga was closed, and I really mean closed! All windows had blinds, so nothing else was seen. One for a weekday I guess....

Rennes-St. Jacques (29-6)

203 CM.170 std
393 CM.170 std, F-GRYD
? CM.170 std
? C.3605 std
(F-GHYD) CeTFB.337G std, ex 3714
J-1143 Vampire FB.6 std

All these were together next to the military area.
Outside with the aeroclub were:
351/33-TT Mirage IIIRD std
(514) Mirage IIIE std, special c/s

Unfortunately all hangars were closed, so the rest of the warbirds that should be here were not seen. Any helps with the missing serials would be great! An old report gives 465 for the missing Fouga and C-493 for the Schlepp, confirmation is required though.

Final stop was the airfield of Abbeville.

Abbeville (29-6)

(287)/8-NM Mystere IVA pr

And after 2200 km in two days we were back home. And it was worth it!

By the way; I corrected twom typos with Dinard. That teaches me not to hurry when I post something....
